It’s a strange beautiful thing the morning you discover your skis by the door and you honestly don’t remember placing them there.

Our fireplace has been lit every night this week and the leaves have taken on their finest shades of Fall. The long cold snap right around the corner has signaled it’s arrival ……and you have been put on notice.

Two weeks ago snow arrived, as I mentioned in my last post, but quickly disappeared as our temperatures rose. The winter season is much like an idea, whose time has come and cannot be stopped (mostly certainly not by man).

Just today I fit in a bike ride out to Dillon (much farther than I had anticipated) entranced in the colors that framed the bike path. Coming home, I set my pace to exhaustion because deep down I knew it might be my last ride of 2011.

But, I say, do not let this be the winter of your discontent. Break out, discover adventure and challenge yourself at Breckenridge Ski Resort every chance you have this season. However, once you’re done, ski down the mountain and steal yourself away in the comfort of Pine Ridge.

We’ll all be here (Darcy, Chris T, Mitch and Chris L), so stop in and say Hi!
